Saint Marcellin lès Vaison : this village, with its small population of 360 inhabitants looks out over its neighbor, the village of Le Crestet.
Crestet : easy to reach in a car. Superb views over the Ouvèze river valley, the castles in Entrechaux and Saint Marcellin lès Vaison. At the top of the village, unmatched views over the Dentelles de Montmirail, and Mont Ventoux. Strolling through the streets at the top of the village, you will see many sculptures which lead you to the former home of artist François Stahly. Next, let’s move on to the Dentelles de Montmirail: Séguret: ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, this historical town takes you straight back to life in the past – here you can easily imagine life during medieval times or the Renaissance … small winding streets, lovely old homes and buildings... Gigondas : is the gateway to the Dentelles de Montmirail range, a great favorite with rock climbers and hikers from near and far. Suzette: in the very heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the medieval village of Suzette is harmonious and peaceful. Le Barroux : crowned by its château-fortress, the perched village of Le Barroux has beautiful old medieval streets. A peaceful atmosphere pervades the village. Beautiful views from the top of the village, which looks out over the Comtat Venaissin plains, the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux. Leave from Le Barroux in the direction of Beaumes de Venise, – this takes you along a winding country road through the most beautiful Côtes du Rhône vineyards! The village of La Roque-Alric comes into view, partially hidden by the rock which shelters it from the mistral wind. The church was built into the rock, and affords magnificent views of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Then comes Lafare, with nice views of the valley, and the starting point for many hikes or walks in the Dentelles. |
